Founded in 1983 as the Prairie Village Park Foundation, the primary purpose of the Foundation was to fund the maintenance of Prairie Village Parks and to offer community members a way to make donations to the parks as a living memorial of their loved ones.
In 1986, the scope of the Foundation was broadened to include contributions to the arts, gifts to residents in need of financial assistance, recreational scholarships for qualified families, and community events.
Through generous donations, the Prairie Village Foundation has been able to enhance the lives of Prairie Village residents and the surrounding community.
“My family has gone from despair to again feeling part of a community that not only cares but also proactively finds solutions to reach out and make a difference. Our lives have been completely changed...we can start fresh and move forward toward a positive future.”
